Northern Imyra

Arlatene – One of the most developed and powerful nations on Hevna, the Kingdom of Arlatene is a monarchy best known for its beautiful mountains in the north, sweeping grasslands in the south, and vast industrial cities everywhere in between.
Arlatene primarily exports stone, marble, lumber and most importantly of all, glass globes containing Hevna’s most precious resource – aether.

Duntilik – Imyra’s most northerly reaching country, Duntilik is a land of snow, ice, and sweeping tundra. Low in natural resources and thus sporting a much smaller population than other areas of Imyra, Duntilik is nevertheless home to proud and hardy peoples who have learned to work with nature’s extremes.
Duntilik primarily exports rare and powerful creatures the men have learned to tame, as well as some of the best pilots on all of Hevna, as the Dunt peoples have had to master their vitally important airships in even the worst of weather. In modern times, some have even journeyed to Duntilik to learn the unique skill set of a ‘Cloud Seer’ from the first masters, a job set increasingly recognized by anyone running an airline.

Rasaal – A vast expanse of jungle contained between the Savage Edge to the north, and mountains to the south, Rasaal hordes moisture, and plants more than any other place on Hevna. Populated by Men who came into the area relatively recently (several hundred years ago), the region also has a large Nagu population, though Men claim it to be their Empire.
Rasaal primarily exports fruits, exotic flowers, medicines derived from its natural plants and most importantly of all, the ever-popular sugar cane grown across the region.

Wessenland – Second among the highly developed nations of Hevna, Wessenland stands as an equal to Arlatene, enjoying perhaps an even higher level of technology inside its borders than its neighbor. Wessenland has an extensive train network, and many of its cities are built partially underground. Once a monarchy, the civil war 30 years ago has instead left the country a democracy run by the Council of Wess.
Wessenland primarily exports technical expertise and parts, lumber, aether engines as well as trading heavily in the knowledge collected at the Floating Library and the Wessenland Collegiates.

Southern Imyra

Bazel – An arid country of desert and rock, Bazel is mostly known for its gas reserves and lucrative gold mines, which provide it enough prosperity to exist on the world stage, despite the relative lack of natural resources people gravitate to.
Due to the inhospitable weather and low levels of arable land, Bazel has a lower population than many of its contemporaries, however the recent advancements in rail technology (which the Bazlish people have snapped up alongside co-investment from Nyret,) have seen a steady boom in population growth year by year.

Ithas – Ithas is one of Hevna’s most varied countries. Stretching from arid dunes and desert in the east to lush plains and wooded areas in the west, Ithas even sees snow at certain points of the year in its more southern regions. Due to a mix of both it’s geography, and the release of weather build up on its coastline as Aether storms affect the area, some parts of Ithas can have very hot days followed by frigid nights, while other areas maintain a relatively balmy climate for most of the year.

Ketto – Another of Imyra’s changeable environments, Ketto stretches from dry sands in the north, to ice snowfields in the south. Originally two separate countries after the grand expansion across Imyra, Ketto conquered ‘Sterin’ in 1507, going on to seize parcels of land from Ithas, Mayris and Bazel over the next two decades.
Since then, Ketto has gone from what many viewed as a warmongering society, to one much lauded by many modern nations.

Letch – A country most known for its political upheavals of the last few decades, Letch is nevertheless a strong country founded on rich resources, biodiversity, and a surprisingly well-educated populace, despite the strife that has affected its governments.
Letch is home to both a significant agricultural industry and manufacturing in equal measure, with the country taking much of the engineering weight for the Southern Imyran nations, in the same way Wessenland does in the North. Counter to this very regimented use of lands, Letch also has large swathes of wilderness that ranges from the jungles in its north to the plains in the west and glaciers in the south. Thanks to the consistent nature of its iced coast, the national animal of Letch is the penguin.

Mayris – In the early days, Mayris was a collection of warring tribes, before becoming unified under a military campaign by Myarin the Great, founder of the Empire of Mayris which has persisted ever since, as has the continued use of the ancient alphabet which still forms the basis of the native Mayrisian language.
The country itself is a contrast of forests, plains and rivers, with an extremely warm north around Netib, and fertile temperate lands around Dibika and Iberi in the south. Deforestation of some areas, and lengthening dry seasons, however, have begun to slowly change the environment in certain locales, for the worse.

Nyret – Arid and windswept, Nyret sits just below the narrowest band of the Imyran desert. A sun-baked and dry land, for the most part, Nyret is home to blazing hot days, chilled nights and dry, dry air.
Nyret is best known for its deserts and valleys, said to be full of the remnants of older times and supposedly lost treasures. Many areas of the country display ruins from failed cultivation thanks to the climate, but some settlements have stood for hundreds of years, and form the power bases of the Princes of Nyret.
Nyret’s major exports are gold, pearls, gas, and oil.

Durand – Harsh and forbidding, Durand is a land of cold, ice and snow. While the most southern extremes have somewhat more balmy weather than the majority of the country, snow forms half the year in many areas, and never recedes in the very north, where the land meets the Snowflats.
Historically, Durand is perhaps best known for the Blood War between Men and the incumbent Nososphores that lived on the land prior to human settlement. While the peoples of each of Nostalia’s present-day countries were part of the conflict, Durand is always the first discussed for its subsequent alliance with the people of The Lady and the presence of Nososphores in their own army.
Durand primarily exports reindeer, fish and a wealth of minerals. Deep beneath its packed snows, zinc, iron ore, coal and form the major minerals of worth, with cryolite trailing behind.

Nofdur – Nofdur has a reputation as one of the most beautiful places on Hevna. Uniquely placed amid geological elements, Nofdur experiences a mix of fire and ice, under alternately clear skies, or aetheric light shows. On top of this natural beauty, Nofdur also features unique architecture compared to its neighbors, that dominate the snowy landscape.
Nofdur experiences consistent volcanism in its north-east quadrant, fueling a myriad of geysers and hot springs. From here, temperate water from underground melts the snowfall the country regularly experiences. Interference from the Snowflats to the west cause aether light shows to mix with the usual magnetic lights near the poles, while on clear nights, the moonlight can be strong enough to form ‘moonbows’ over the hot springs.
